the start of my photography

I started this whole thing on a whim, as a quickly spiraling interest to take photos of my own family. It evolved fast - faster than I expected, and I could not be more grateful. I put word out to friends that I was going to start taking on families and my journey's pace quickened, my skill and confidence developed, and I continued to (and still do!) grow. But mostly, I just like to be around people. And even more lucky yet, I get to watch many of the families I photograph grow and evolve.

Who I am

I am a gemini, through and through. I am an extrovert, who occasionally questions if I am a closeted introvert. I was a figure skater the majority of my youth, which led me to work professionally on a cruise ship in the Caribbean, fresh out of high school. From there, I went to college in Manhattan for fashion/business/marketing, where I finally realized that I quite liked being closer to home and that back in the Midwest is where I wanted to land. I happily live in Oshkosh, WI. I am mom to Rhett & Willa. I'm outgoing and social but prefer game night & old fashioneds over going out, and bonfires over bars. Lucinda Williams shall forever top my music list. As I grow older, I want simpler. I'll always choose fun. And above all, I adore my family, my friends and life in Wisconsin - grateful for our unending land & lakes (and excessive friendliness, with beloved and slightly obnoxious yooper-esque accents).
